At AIR, we believe innovation doesn’t clock out when the sun sets. That’s why we’re proud to announce a major milestone in our journey to revolutionize aerial logistics: our uncrewed midsize eVTOL has successfully completed advanced nighttime cargo flight demonstrations.
This is more than just a test, it’s a first. AIR is the first company to fly an uncrewed midsize eVTOL for cargo at night, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in next-generation logistics and mobility.
Seamless Night Operations in Real-World Conditions
The demonstration took place at a remote, non-airport site with minimal infrastructure, simulating real-world logistics conditions. Despite the low-resource environment, the aircraft performed flawlessly, completing safe and efficient nighttime operations while carrying 550 pounds (250 kg) of cargo.
What made this flight even more significant was the smooth collaboration with ground crews, some of whom had no prior experience with our aircraft. Thanks to straightforward standard operating procedures (SOPs) developed by our team, ground operators were able to load cargo and support the flight with minimal training. This proves AIR’s platform is not only powerful, but also practical and adaptable, ready for rapid deployment in diverse settings.
“Operations don't stop once the sun goes down,” said Rani Plaut, CEO and Co-founder of AIR. “We recognized early on that ensuring safety and efficiency at night is just as essential as in the daytime. The new SOPs we established lay the foundation for a future of uninterrupted, on-demand cargo mobility.”

Ready for 24/7 Use
From day one, our goal has been to design aircraft that operate safely, simply, and seamlessly, day or night. These recent flights demonstrate that AIR’s uncrewed eVTOL can integrate with any ground team, in any environment, at any time. That’s a game-changer for logistics companies that rely on flexible, always-on operations.
Our launch customer, who joined us on-site for the nighttime demo, echoed that sentiment, expressing excitement for the upcoming delivery of additional units later this year.
Moving Forward, Fast
This latest achievement comes as AIR continues to scale rapidly. We’ve doubled our team in the past year and expanded our product line to include both a cargo-focused unmanned eVTOL and the piloted AIR ONE for personal and commercial use.
With over 2,400 AIR ONE preorders from around the globe and a growing waitlist, we’re laser-focused on delivering certified aircraft for general aviation customers and enterprise partners alike.
Whether you’re looking to move people or payloads, day or night, AIR is ready to take you there.
