We are excited to announce that Matthew Smith will be joining the AIR Family as the Director of Certification & Airworthiness. Matthew brings over 30 years of demonstrated experience in aerospace, working closely with the FAA certification office. Prior to AIR, Matthew led the certification of multiple DOD aircraft, directed the engineering department at Gulfstream Aerospace, and served as lead FAA Organizational Delegation Authorization (ODA) delegate on the certification of many new and novel aircraft. Matthew has led the certification of many popular innovations in Aerospace such as the first high-speed internet aboard a commercial aircraft, certification of the world’s first synthetic vision system for an aircraft, and certification of the first Class III Electronic Flight Bag System. We are proud to have an industry-leading aerospace professional join the team and are looking forward to the incredible achievements he will bring. Welcome aboard Matthew!
